Co. Clare Munster Eire |
The Burren, a huge pavement of square limestone slabs and certainly
one of Ireland's most haunting landscapes, was well settled long
before the Celts arrived on the island. It has 70 prehistoric
tombs of which the 4500-year-old Poulabrone Dolmen is a bizarre
example. 17 adults and 16 children were buried here.
